I firmly believe that all students are capable and have the capacity to learn. It is the teacher, or tutor's job to find the right key to unlock the potential in each child. Therefore, it is my philosophy to meet each child where he or she is at, and build from there. I am a veteran teacher of 19 years, and an educator for 24 years. I would highly recommend Ms. Joyce. She was very knowledgeable regarding our needs and very responsive to our concerns. She is an expert in literacy, as demonstrated by our interactions with her, her experience and her education.
Today was our first day meeting with Joyce for an assessment. Everything went very well with the line of questioning and the material used. We are excited to get started.
We recently had a tutoring session with Joyce, and it was a very positive experience. She came very well-prepared and was able to put our minds at ease immediately as she was able to identify the difficulty our son was having. After the assessment, she sat with us and explained the best approach to address our son's needs. Looking forward to great success and growth!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
