Hi I'm Karthik! I graduated with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a B.S. in Business Administration. I have a few different tutoring experiences. In high school, at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, I was a general chemistry TA who met with students as needed to go over concepts that were not clicking and preparing for upcoming exams. In college, I tutored friends in Chemistry and Math, teaching problem solving strategies that they could apply to all of their quantitative classes. My approach to tutoring is to teach a game plan for solving a problem, letting the student sit and think hard on a practice question, then offering advice and guidance. The second step is crucial for growing a student's mind!

Math was my favorite subject in grade school! I enjoyed learning how to think abstractly and apply my knowledge to relevant life problems like calculating the tax at a restaurant or estimating where would be the best mutual location for my group of friends to meet by minimizing driving time. In practice, I scored a 1580/1600 on the SAT (800 Math, 780 Reading) as well as an 800/800 on the Math II, Chemistry, and Physics Subject SAT exams.
