I live in the Chapel Hill area and in the past have worked with my students at the UNC Student Union or at Davis Library. I can tutor all grades in science and math although most of my experience is in high school chemistry, statistics, and various math courses.

When I was in high school, I made a 720 on SAT math and a 35 on ACT math. I received the highest overall average in my AP/IB Calculus AB/BC award and received the Jaime Escalante math teaching award from my calculus teacher. I have tutored math for 4 years, and have taken math classes through Intro Statistics and Calc 3 as well as Discrete Mathematics, Differential Equations I, Abstract Algebra, and Combinatorics courses in college.

Please contact me with any interest you have in receiving tutoring! I love to teach! I am available to contact by phone in the evenings or email at any time of the week.

Very knowledgeable and skilled tutor.

My son feels his first session with Sarah was helpful and productive. He says he already understands his current Chemistry unit much better. Sarah is providing him with strategies/guides for remembering rules to aid him when approaching a problem so that he does not feel so overwhelmed. We look forward to working more with her.

Patient and positive math tutor

My daughter has struggled with maybe since leaving private school in 2nd grade and attending public school where common core is taught. After her first lesson with Sarah we knew it was a good fit. My daughter came out happy, lifted, smiling and bragging about how she "gets it" now. This was a nice, welcomed change to tears. We have tried Mathnasium for 9 months, an AP level high school student for 13 weeks and after one lesson with Sarah we are seeing results we've been hoping for for years. We will continue to use this tutor until she is confident with tackling math 6 and 7 on her own.
