Kseniya and I have been working on the elements of Russian grammar and listening and speaking skills. I always have a great time and learn a lot each session. I think Kseniya is remarkable. She finds a way to teach me that I feel comfortable and at ease. She is always very prepared and I have learned exponentially more than if I studied alone or with Rosetta Stone. I cannot say enough good things about her. I plan on continuing my lessons with her until I am fluent. I highly recommend her and would gladly recommend her to anyone.
Kseniya is really great at being able to teach the Russian language to non-native speakers. In about 6 months of lessons with her I have gone from little to no knowledge in the Russian language to being able to hold conversations with others in Russian.
She is a very strict and demanding teacher but with that as well she understands that everyone has different amounts of time available for study and does her best to accommodate those needs while pushing for results. She's very easy to get a hold of and flexible if something comes up and I would have to reschedule a lesson.
Her English is very good as well which helps to be able to explain differences or some complexities of the Russian language to me in a way that I can understand and relate to. At times though I feel that she sometimes pushes me a little too hard or that we go over material too quickly however all I have to do is say that I don't understand something or need some extra time and she's able to alter the lessons on the fly in order to go over things I am having difficulty with.
With her having taught Russian as a second language in Russia I have found that her lesson plans are very well put together and that they move forward logically, this helps I think to maximize the amount of material to cover in a minimal amount of time.
Overall she is an excellent teacher and I would recommend her to anyone that is serious about learning the Russian language.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
