I am a science graduate of UNC-CH. I have extensive background in working with children and adults and have tutored for over 5 years. I definitely care for all of my students and for that reason, I create personal assessments just for them to see where they are at. Most of the students I have taught have gone onto doing very well in their subject matter and I have had students that have gone on to work with me for months with good results. For this reason, my continuity sets me apart from many others. My goal is to have students appreciate and overcome their subject matter that they struggled with prior to my tutoring. I also think that my advising is very helpful for students and their parents when they are deciding to prepare for higher education.
One of the things I always appreciate about tutoring is that my students ask me a lot of questions. The more they ask the better; otherwise, I ask them a lot of questions. I always try to make my tutoring sessions inquisitive, fun, and visual because I know that in terms of math students need to know why they are doing certain problems. I also emphasize on working a lot of problems out in my lessons because then my students become pro in those types of materials. The ultimate task in tutoring for me eventually is to see my students grow independent and stand up to whatever challenge that comes their way in the current and future.
