I am a Special Education Teacher with 35+ years experience and have previously taught in New Jersey for over 28 years in special education. Having been raised by deaf parents I am fluent in sign language. I have taught pre-algebra and algebra as an ICR teacher. I am currently teaching in North Carolina at a local high school in Cary, NC as a Common Core Math 1A and 1B teacher, previously known as Algebra I Part I and Algebra I Part II. I am multiply certified in the following areas: Special Education - Teacher of the Handicapped, Certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Certified Principal/Supervisor of Secondary Administration and Praxis certified in all areas of certification

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a special education teacher for 35 years working with student with ADHD and I have shown them how to work around their own distractions, stay organized and create check lists step by step. I have written these IEPs for those students as well as their special education case manager in New Jersey as well as NC Wake County Public Schools.

I was raised by 2 deaf parents and learned sign language as a child and well into college by taking a double major in Speech and Hearing Sciences. I have served as an interpreter for my mother and father as well as many others. I also taught a class of deaf and hard of hearing students at the Millburn School for the Deaf and at Ellwyn Institute. I am fairly fluent in American Sign Language.
I have been a special education/in class resource teacher/math teacher for the last 38 years. I currently tutor Common Core 1 as well as basic skills math in Wake County. I have a Master's Degree in Educational Administration as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education/Speech and Language.
I am the daughter of 2 deaf parents. I attained a BA degree is speech therapy and teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing. I student taught with the deaf. I have been a sign language interpreter in the past as well as a sign language transcriptionist for note taking purposes.
I have been a special education teacher for the last 35 years which is my total years of dedication to special education teaching, I have taught the deaf, autistic, hearing impaired, interpreted, worked as an inclusion mainstream teacher in the subjects of Pre-Algebra as well as Common Core Math, I have also been the inclusion teacher for World History, English and Earth Science. I have served on countless committees for the handicapped as well as advocated for my deaf parents as a child. I serve on student improve committees as well as write IEP's for my students on my caseload.
