My name is Kevin and I am currently a student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology. For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about both Math and Science. Because of this passion I decided to pursue it for my career and combine with my other love of sports. Moreover, I want to spread the love of learning that I have benefited from all these years to other students. I have worked with students in the past and it has always been a fun process. When coaching kids, from ages 5-6, I broke skills down to their most simple point first and them practice them continuously. For instance, in flag football the kids weren't fully capable of throwing and catching just yet, so we practiced with majority of hand offs and would slowly try to have a pass or two play a part. Once the basics were down, we would together to build on these skills. I have seen that this way of teaching not only makes the learning process easier but it also becomes routine for students. They then do it without thinking about it later on. Lastly, I have numerous other experiences that provide me with the knowledge to help students succeed in their academic career.
I have been able to tutor several friends and classmates already in my life. In 8th grade for instance, my math teacher had given me permission to get up and help the other students with their assignments whenever we were doing any type of paper work independently. In my first year of high school my Algebra class that I took in middle school didn't transfer over so I had to take it again to earn a credit for it and once again the teacher allowed me to help out the other students when it came down to working on our activities. I have also helped out with both science and math in my first year of college. I had a couple of friends in my science and math classes, that lived in my dorm rooms with me. Whenever we would have homework and they would have questions about the problems they would come to me and I would help them out. Especially when it came time for exams, I held a couple of study sessions with them and was there to help explain things to them if they had problems.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss my qualifications and availability. Just contact me and we can get started on this learning journey. Hello everyone,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
