First tutoring session -- did a great job with my daughter and her calculus. Explained concepts that she needed to learn more about and she thought that he explained them well.
12/18/13 great mid term exam review of AP calc with my daughter -- he is an excellent resource. My daughter has been accepted to engineering school for next fall and wants a strong understanding of AP calc. -- Kent is an excellent teacher.
11/30/14 Daughter back for Thanksgiving from college-- Kent did excellent review for an upcoming test -- he is awesome!
Kent is incredibly patient and not only understands the subject matter (pre-calc) extremely well, he also understands exactly what can be tricky or confusing about each new topic. The tips and tricks he has shared are really resonating with my daughter. He is able to explain complicated concepts in a way that makes sense and that she is apply to her work. He also tells her when there are things that "you just have to memorize."
For the first time in 2 years we are starting to see her gain back some of the confidence she has lost in her mathematical abilities. Wish we had found him sooner!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
