George Mason University (French)
My love of language began at an early age. I have over 20 years of experience in speaking, reading, and writing French, and continue to foster my passion for language in my students and in the community. I have a Bachelor's Degree in French and have briefly lived in France, as well. I have successfully tutored French-studying adults, as well as private- and public-school students, where I have helped them raise their test scores significantly and provided academic support. I teach all levels of elementary, middle, high school, and undergraduate French, as well as (European) phonetic, conversational French for the world traveler who may need a bit of instruction before navigating a French-speaking country.
While I strive to challenge my students, each lesson is customized according to their learning level. My lines of communication are always open, and I encourage my students to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns about their progress. Tutoring sessions will always take place in any public, quiet space convenient for the student, such as a public library or a coffee shop. Unfortunately, I do not offer tutoring services within private home settings at this time. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy but, on a case-by-case basis, will offer make-up classes if possible.
I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your language goals! My love of language began at an early age. I have over 20 years of experience in speaking, reading, and writing … Read more
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
