I am an Adjunct Instructor at a Technical Institute in Myrtle Beach, NC. I am currently teaching Electrical Engineering and Profession Development courses. These courses involve tutoring students in advanced math and algebra.
I have a strong technical background in semiconductor electronic and hardware development and manufacturing, with a B.S.E.E. degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and completed credits toward a Master's in Business from Mount Saint Mary College (Newburgh, NY). Along with this technical/business background, I am able to tutor in the area of basic math, and all aspects of science subjects, including physics and chemistry from grade-school level students up to and including High School. I am also versed in American History with emphasis on the American Civil War.
I especially enjoy tutoring students deficient in basic algebra skills, general science and physics concepts. I am also available for bilingual sessions, fluid in Spanish and English, where I can help students learn English, or Spanish, and provide them with the proper grammar and pronunciation skills in both languages.
My tutor/teaching style is not to provide the student with a quick, ready answer, but to help the student learn the material in question, and engage them in a interactive discussion about what they have read and learned, then I follow through with providing them the concept and the process for resolving the question or problem at hand.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Fully-versed in basic algebra at the 7th through 12th grade level. This includes solving for a variable, proportional equations, linear equations, quadratic equations, graphing linear and quadratic equations, finding the vertex, and other algebraic principles.
I am versed in Astronomy at the grade level through high school and higher. In addition I am an amateur astronomer skilled in the use and application of refractive and reflective telescopes. I am currently a docent technical volunteer at the Ingram Planetarium of Sunset Beach, NC.
I am experienced in all aspects of personal computer operations, including hardware and operating systems and architecture. I am also well versed in the Microsoft Suite of programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and web browsing and research.
I teach formal and informal (nouns and pronouns) language, both written and spoken.
