Hi! My name is Prashant. I enjoy teaching chemistry. I have had two years of experience tutoring students during my Masters at Tennessee State University. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA.

I have come to the understanding that every student has their own method of understanding and "one size fits all" just doesn't work. I have developed multiple ways to explain one concept and still I encounter new challenges. I am always up for them, they help me grow.

I have always asked my students to be fearless with their comments. These comments help me understand how much of the concept a person has grasped and how much is left, or if my efforts require adjustment. Teaching/Tutoring is as much a learning experience for me as it is for the student.

My greatest challenge each time is to tutor a student in the same method as the teacher. So far, I have been successful and I hope to over come this challenge each and every time.

I often say the following:
Chemistry is easy, but removing the notion/concept that "Chemistry is difficult" from one's mind is the most challenging task.

If I were to be asked to advocate Chemistry, I can give many examples on why Chemistry is important. But it is impossible for me to describe a subject especially something as vast as Chemistry. I accept that I do not know all of Chemistry. It is impossible, but I know enough to guide a student through HS / college level and make it less of a monster. I hold a minor in Mathematics. What does it has to do with Chemistry? Well, believe it or not, Chemistry is equally invested in numbers as it is in logic & concepts. If it does not make sense, it is something but not Chemistry. Chemistry has many divisions but mainly six well known: General, Organic, Inorganic, Analytical, Physical, and Biochemistry. In general terms following is how I would explain each of them, they are just to provide a glimpse of each division but not to hold on to the notion because it is NOT exactly that. General Chemistry: 50% concepts and structures(CS) and 50% Logic and Mathematics(LM). Organic Chemistry: 20% LM and 80% CS. Inorganic Chemistry: 30% LM and 70% CS. Analytical Chemistry: 80% LM and 20% CS. Physical Chemistry: 95% LM and 5% CS. Biochemistry: 18% LM and 82% CS. Understanding concepts of Lewis acid-base and electron configuration are equally important as stoichiometry and laws of thermodynamics, to understand why various firecrackers behave the way they do.

Very competent and knowledgeable

Prashant knows his stuff. He comes from a strong chemistry background and is still actively working in the field. Also a wealth of useful information, he can help explain concepts of high level material using diagrams and models from lower level classes the student already understands (eg. teaching inorganic concepts using organic concepts). A solid tutor who will go out of his way to find extra resources to send to you even off tutoring hours.

Excellent and enthusiastic Chemistry tutor!

Parshant has an excellent approach of tutoring for anyone to grasp the concept of any subject matter. My son who is in freshman high school is taking honers chemistry. He is very pleased with the way Prashant is preparing him for his class and also for his upcoming SAT subject testing in Chemistry.
