I am currently employed full time outside of the realm of education, but enjoy working with people of all ages who are interested in bettering their math skills.

I taught high school math for 3 years. I have taught North Carolina Math 2, North Carolina Math 3, and Precalculus.

I have a bachelor's degree from Columbia College in Columbia, SC. I double majored in mathematics and child and family studies with a focus in child life and a minor in theatre. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and I completed the honors program.

I completed my child life internship at Kidz First Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand and have passed my certification exam to become a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS). I am living in Belmont, NC.

While in college, I spent 5 semesters employed by my college's Mathematics Tutoring Lab in addition to working through WyzAnt. I have also worked as a mentor for struggling college students on campus at my school.

I have been a camp counselor at The Children of Mary Camp the summer before I entered the 8th grade, and I love working with children. The camp serves children from 1st grade through 6th grade. I am a member of the camp's board of directors.

Over the summers from 2013-2017 I worked with Mecklenburg County Therapeutic Recreation's summer camps for children and young adults with disabilities.

I have tutored clients with a wide range of ages and needs, from elementary schoolers to nontraditional college students to adults working towards their GEDs.

While I typically help with math, I am willing to help with whatever your or your child's specific needs may be. I am willing to be flexible to help accommodate you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Theater

I have been heavily involved in theatre since a young age, and I am now going on to minor in it at Columbia College (SC). I have been in many plays and musicals, including the lead role (Beatrice) in Cox Mill High School's production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. I also have experience working with lights and scenery, and would be excited to share my love of theatre with potential students!

Great tutor!

My child felt confident and was able to tie together all the mathematical concepts that where once difficult to understand after only a couple of session. Mrs. Roxanne is very knowledgable, patient and was able to assess weak areas in my child's learning almost immediately. She made great use of her time during sessions and we highly recommend her as a tutor!

Knowlegable and patient

She helped with last minute preparation with my daughters SAT preparations. We are praying that her assistance was well worth it and that it helped in her overall score. She seemed to be an excellent tutor. We hope to look forward to future sessions. Thank you.

Wonderful Tutor!

Roxanne, tutored my daughter summer 2012 in Algebra II and Geometry. I was shocked by the end of the session she was able to pass Algebra II in summer school without struggling and understand some concepts of Geometry. Roxanne was patient and involved with every session. My daughter enjoyed learning math which has never happened, she stated that "Roxanne let's me ask her questions and answers them in a simple way that I understand, she doesn't make me feel bad for not knowing and she shows me how to do it and makes me do over and over and over" After each tutoring session my child was more confident, she even asked me "Mom what am I going to do without Roxanne in Geometry this year". I could not have wished for a better tutor, Roxanne is a wonderful tutor and I would recommend her to anyone who wants there child to learn in a positive manner. Thank you Roxanne!!

Great Tutor

Roxanne did a great job breaking down terms and teaching my son geometry to where he could understand and it made since to him. He said each day after tutoring that Roxanne made it all so much easier to get. His test score jumped 15 points from mid term and 30 points from his last regular test grade. Thanks Roxanne. You were great!

5 Star Tutor

Roxanne has tutored my daughter for 3 sessions in SAT Math. My daughter is improving and I think she will be ready for the SAT test in October. Roxanne arrives early, is easy to work with, and provides excellent tutoring. I can safely fully recommend her to anyone. Don't be dissuaded by age. Skills are either there or not and she has the proper math skills to tutor.
