I am a previous English professor at a community college in South Georgia, but I am moving to Asheville at the end of July, 2014. I have taught students locally and from around the world the basics of English Grammar, punctuation, and style for the past six years. My expertise is in writing skills and working with students who are about to take entrance exams. Vocabulary, sentence structure, punctuation, and writing style are my fortes. Many success stories abound in my career at the college here. High percentage of passage rates for my classes historically.
I am very easy to get along with and have the patience to work with all types of students. Working with students needing basic skills or with students writing term papers of class essays are skills I possess. I am very friendly and courteous to all. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
