My name is Tyler. I have a master's degree in clinical psychology and have had my private practice in psycoptherapy since 1994. I have worked as a therapist for more than 30 years now and love helping people see beyond the problems that inhibit them from living fully as the people they are meant to be.
My goal in tutoring is to help an individual learn how to recognize their qualities as a person to focus on achieving their educational goals. The primary obstacle to learning in any area is a negatively learned, habitual mind set that internally is misdirecting the person's attention from knowing they have the ability to master the material they desire. In other words, the subject is secondary to the overall knowledge that you are capable and worthy. When we align with the source of our goodness as a person and feel good about ourselves, learning is quite easy and fun.
My goal in tutoring is not only to help a person gain confidence in the subject they seek improvement in, but to have an uplifting experience of knowing they have the inner resources to succeed wherever they practice focusing their attention in a positive way. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
