I am a passionate individual with a love for learning and teaching. My love for reading started at a young age and I was always the number one student in the Accelerated Reading program. In 5th grade, I was chosen to be a tutor for Kindergarten students and I was able to leave class for 30 minutes at a time to teach members of the Kindergarten classes how to read. Excellent tutor!
Brittany is an absolutely amazing, patient, flexible, articulate, skilled and committed tutor who is working with our son, who is in the 6th grade on his reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and in the future word problems in math. Our son is smart and doing well in school but needs to strengthen his foundation in English in preparation for the HSPT test in 8th grade. Try to convince a kid who loves to play fortnite with his friends and who builds computers from scratch that he needs a tutor! The first lesson was solid, and she quickly figured out how to mix things up to keep him engaged and focused. She will remember whatever little detail I share in a text or email and bring it up to get him chatting such as “ How was your Godzilla 2 movie?. “ Our son now prepares for her vocabulary quiz to start each lesson, shares ‘ five’ new words and their meaning that he heard during the week and then they deep dive into passages she selects from the HSPT or other courses that he reads on his own on the shared screen. She reviews the reading with him and will answer, clarify his questions. She queries his responses to the attached questions to ensure that he ‘ understands’ why ‘ b’ is the correct answer and not simply a ‘ guess’. VERY easy to communicate and Brittany understands if we need to move a lesson time if needed. Calm, funny when needed, with a gentle and easy spirit that encourages a child, no matter their starting point. What I particularly like is she genuinely wants him to ‘ understand’ and then apply, respecting his current knowledge base as she teaches new material each lesson. We are extremely happy with her as his tutor and plan to work with her over the next two years, God willing so he can be fully prepared for high school and life! An excellent tutor ! JB

Brittany is very patient with my son and a very skilled tutor. She uses different techniques to target my sons weaknesses. My son gets very nervous meeting new people but felt immediately comfortable with Brittany. He loved the first session so much that he started looking forward to future sessions.
