About Attila

Cellist Attila has garnered recognition for his commanding stage presence, inspiring performances and inventive approach to classical repertoire. Attila has appeared in recital as a soloist, and as an orchestral and chamber musician throughout Asia, Europe and North America.

Attila grew up in Odorheiu-Secuiesc (Székelyudvarhely), a small town in Transylvania, Romania. At an early age, his teachers recognized his gift for music and encouraged him to attend the prestigious Dr. Palló Imre Visual and Performing Arts High School in Romania. At age 16, he entered his first string competition in Botosani, Romania and placed in the top five. During this time, Attila performed in the Szeklerland Symphonic Orchestra and was a member of the Pit Orchestra in Odorheiu-Secuiesc, Romania.

Attila continued to achieve high accolades for his talent and commitment to cello performance. The University of Oradea, Romania granted him a full scholarship to pursue a dual Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance and Cello Education. Upon graduation, the university offered him another full scholarship to pursue a Masters Degree in Chamber Music. He quickly rose to the top of his class, and achieved recognition for his performances in the Oradea State Philharmonic (Romania), & Goppisberger Musikwochen” Orchestra (Switzerland), Oradea State Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (Romania), Szeklerland Symphonic Orchestra (Romania) and Csíki Kamarazeneka (Romania).

Upon graduation at the University of Oradea, he had the opportunity to travel the world as a soloist and chamber musician. He was the principal cellist at the Pommersfelden music festival orchestra in Germany. Attila also achieved acclaim for his solo performance in Leukerbad, Switzerland.

Attila is deeply committed to music education. He was a cello instructor at the Nagy Istvan Visual and Performing Arts High School (Romania) and at the Dr. Palló Imre Visual and Performing Arts High School (Romania).

More recently, Attila was granted yet another full scholarship to West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he served as Principal Cellist of the West Chester University Symphony Orchestra. He also traveled with the Camerata Philadelphia to China and was appointed Principal Cellist of the Altoona Symphony Orchestra.

Attila currently teaches privately in Cary, North Carolina.

In 2011, he was invited to the United States to pursue a second master's in Cello Performance at West Chester University, where he was granted a full scholarship. He served as First Chair Cellist of the West Chester University Symphony Orchestra and also traveled with the Camerata Philadelphia to China.
