I have taught English as a Second Language overseas for over 20 years. I have strong experience in grammar, reading, writing and test preparation. I am able to help students seeking SAT/ACT assistance as well. When working on a specific assignment I try to help students develop their own skills to expand on their knowledge, using supplemental materials as needed. Students' success is my primary goal.
I have a B.A. in English/minor Spanish and I am fluent in Greek. After college, I taught English in the U.S. Peace Corps in Sri Lanka, followed by 7 years teaching in language schools and community colleges in the Chicago area. For the past 20 years I have been living in Europe tutoring students for proficiency test preparation, IB studies, and general language development.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Having taught English for 30 years has given me the ability to help students organize their academic priorities and to help them focus on specific lessons. I have a B.A. In English, worked in the Peace Corps, Chicago area and Greece and currently work in Montana. Students' academic success is my primary goal.
