I am Sushil D. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics along with minors in Math and Statistics. I completed my PhD in physics from Ohio University in December 2016. During my studies, I really enjoyed the classes taught by professors who were willing to go extra miles when I needed help. I also liked the classes where professors were organized and had a lesson plan rather than being all over the place during the lecture delivery. I learnt from those experiences and include them in my tutoring approach. I make lesson plans before tutoring and try to teach in a way that is easier to understand. I make sure students have enough time to practice the material on their own. I also adjust my tutoring approach based on student’s individual needs.
I have been teaching physics courses at the university level for the last 6 years, currently as a full-time visiting faculty. Those courses include both calculus and algebra-based as well as laboratory courses. I have been tutoring science from grades 3 to 12 and physics at the college level since the beginning of 2022. Those tutoring sessions are mostly individuals with some groups containing up to 4 students. During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I tutored Mathematics to senior high school students which included algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
