For the past 32 years, I have taught, tutored, and worked with students from the kindergarten level to the community college level to graduate level, so I have years of experience in helping underprepared, struggling students succeed. One of my most rewarding moments as a professor is the “Ahh-Haa!” moment when the light bulb comes on in the student’s head. I realize that many students typically are underprepared, struggling students with low self-efficacy. These are the ones for whom those “Ahh-Haa” moments are so needed, but usually so rare.
I have had years of experience working with all types and ages of students. At the college where I most recently worked, I started the Academic Success Center and Writing Coach program there to help students with writing and other academic issues. I taught English Composition II for Liberty University Online for several years and currently teach for LUO and Knowledge Elements online, so I have much experience in the online environment as well. I enjoy teaching online and developing courses online. I am comfortable working in the online environment as I just completed my doctorate online.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been studying the Bible since I learned to read at age 3, and I read and study it every day. I am a minister's wife and have taught Bible classes for many years. I also studied at Welch College (a Bible college in Tennessee).
