About Randall

I am currently attending Mississippi State University in pursuit of a Biological Sciences (B.S) degree. My favorite subjects are Organic Chemistry and Biology. I am also proficient in College Algebra, Trig, and Trig-based Physics. I am white with brown hair and blue eyes, I would say I'm 6 foot tall just because everyone else does (it's actually 5'11). In my spare time I like to play my PS4 (particularly battlefield) and also enjoy most sports except basketball and soccer. Also, if you play battlefield hardline, I am a beast sniper so we would probably be best friends haha. I am from a rural area of Northeast MS but have met many people from populated, urban cities too! I love MSU and will always be a bulldog!

Anyways, here is the relevant paragraph pertaining to the subject of why you should pick me. I tutor in a very unique method, I like to go to McCool Hall (Business Building) and sit in a room where there is a dry erase board and a small circular table. What I will do is talk to my colleagues (dependent on which class/department you are studying for) and will basically try to get every bit of information that pertains to your test. When the resources are gathered, I'm not going to read to you like a baby (you're welcome), rather I will teach you the shortest way to retain and apply the given information by a process I refer to as intuitive learning. For instance, if your organic chemistry teacher tells you to study all the mechanisms for the different type of reactions, I would compute a study guide that would summarize rather lengthy/difficult topics into modern day examples that pertain to your life so that your brain stimuli will cope easily with the information you are processing. Conversational language mixed with education, triggers these stimuli into the normal mode that is used daily by the majority of people. I believe this method reduces stress; which in turn, will allow more information to get processed effectively. If you're stuck in a tough spot (ex. the day before a critical exam), allow me to help salvage the time wasted by effectively covering topics that I have personally been tested on. If you don't learn very easily from me, I will call upon another colleague to assist you and reimburse your money. This hasn't happened yet though :)

My GPA is a 3.5 in biological sciences. These are some of the classes I have taken: Bio I/II, Biochemistry, Genetics, Human Genetics, Plant Physiology, Plant Anatomy, GenPhysics II, Gen Chem I/II, Org Chem I/II, Botany, Sociology, Physiology, Microbio and all maths except calculus. Really, you can just contact me with the class you are struggling with and I will more than likely be able to teach it to you. If I do not have the proper pre-reqs for your subject I will hook you up with one of my friends that does.

I'm a laid back college student. However, I am very particular on how information is displayed to you and how your unique receptors use certain illustrations to make learning ironically fun. I have tutored several fellow classmates and am a member of Phi Thetta Kappa. I was salutatorian of my high school (Hamilton High), and was the Monroe County electric power scholarship recipient. I am an honor graduate from Itawamba Community College and won 1st in North MS for dental terminology at HOSA. I also was picked in 10th grade to attend HOBY, which is a leadership based group with high academic standings. I have worked construction and job shadowed under a dentist in Columbus MS. My brother is also an optometrist so you can say our family has a medical background. I am not a narcistic person even though you're probably saying, "yeah right, I read your bio";however, I gain my happiness by not only helping students make an A on their exam but by also forming a friendship in the process. I am typing this in the library and grow weary of getting the stink eye from the librarian so I will end my novel now haha.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Genetics

I have completed Genetics 1 with a B at MSU. I am also now enrolled in Human Genetics; thus, I believe I am capable of conveying accurate and useful information to my fellow students.

Organic Chemistry

I have completed Organic Chem 1 the first time with a 79.3 in lecture and an A+ in Lab at MSU. I am currently taking organic chem 2 this semester so I will definitely know everything needed to make great on a test.
P.S. (This is also my favorite subject) :)
