About Stephen

Bio

I am a graduate student in aerospace engineering at Mississippi State University. I've helped many people over the years make easy A's in math classes and I can definitely help you also. I will break down each problem step-by-step and tell you what's happening and why. I value your time as much as mine, and I try to be as efficient as possible, but what matters is you understand the material at the end of the day. I do this by teaching with jokes, note cards, or whatever else will help you. ...

I have to use Cal 1-4, Linear Algebra, Trig and Geometry almost every single day. I have been helping people pass math classes since algebra 1 in high school.

I am confident I can take the "scary" out of math to help you learn and make easy A's. Let me know if you're interested!

MATLAB

I've extensively used MATLAB in aerospace classes. I believe there are two parts to learning MATLAB, first knowing the language which just takes memorization, but second, and what I can help most with, is making sure the student has rigid structure to their code, clean concise loops, utilizing subroutines for simplicity and clarity, and knowing EXACTLY what they want to do before ever starting to code. Then i can help with exporting, displaying, plotting, or publishing data inside MATLAB I also have a little experience with Arduino in MATLAB for satellite attitude dynamics.

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

I use DE in many classes as it is: Vibrations, Aerospace Controls, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Orbital Mechanics. I took Honors DE, can break the class, and tests, down pretty easy by helping the student identify first which type of ODE is it, then how to approach the problem to find the resulting equation. Since i use it so much, i can also supplement the raw math with personal real world applications such as Lagrangian movements (orbital) or Laplace transforms (Aeroacoustics).
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

As an Aerospace Senior, I use linear every day. Not only can I help the students recognize the similarity of linear systems, vector equations and matrices, but I can show real world applications on so many fronts. My highest applications for linear have been Finite Element Methods, mesh optimization, controls and satellite attitude determination. I can definitely get someone through Linear Algebra.

Fitness

I've been working out on and off for 7 years. I have completed p90x three times, insanity twice. Aside programs I have done strength training, sculpting, cutting in a large gym. I can plan a workout and diet for someone who wants to gain, lose, or just tone. I've also done a lot of things I don't recommend, like the "taco bell gainz" diet.
