BA - Boston University
I recently graduated from St. Andrew's Episcopal High School in Ridgeland. During, my time there I was involved with many extracurricular activities, including one where I tutored children in math and Mandarin at Boyd Elementary School.
I will be attending Boston University starting in Spring of 2017; I am enrolled in their liberal arts program. In the interim, however, I will be taking a few classes at Millsaps College so I can go to Boston University with class credits.
The reason why I would be a great option for your child and family is the fact that I understand what it is like to need help in certain areas of study where you may not be the strongest. I know the value of having someone who not only is able to empathize but is also able to use their ability to empathize to help your child be the best they can be and believe in their abilities as well as develop more confidence when applying themselves to their studies.
I took AP English for two years in high school, scoring 4's consecutively on both AP exams. I scored a 34 on the reading section of the ACT and a 720 on the critical reading section of the SAT. I am a very strong writer, which makes me a very good person to help your child with papers by helping them develop theses or outlines for their papers. I can also help your child increase their reading proficiency and vocabulary; furthermore, I am a very, very comprehensive reader who has developed various tactics in order to get the most out of reading without having to go back and reread the book or rely on Sparknotes or Shmoop.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
