I worked for Fortune 500 company for 33 years as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager. I retired June 2014. While at William Carey University, I tutored Chemistry and English, and received National Tutor certification. I also taught an Organic Chemistry Lab for nursing students. While employed, I continued tutoring and all students I tutored were very successful in passing the courses of study, which includes one Nursing student passing the State of New York Nursing Boards.
My work experience began as a Process Chemist. Projects assignments required that I utilize my knowledge of General and Organic Chemistry, in addition to math, computer skills, writing skills, and ultimately people management skills. I teach adult Sunday School, Discipleship I, II, III, and IV, and a Bible Study class for Senior adults. I take learning serious, thus have acquired the skills through work and life experience in general to be a very effective communicator and motivator.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
