My love of teaching comes from a lifelong desire to acquire knowledge. I am a student at heart, and therefore I can relate to today's students. There is nothing more satisfying to me than that moment the student finally "gets it." When the light bulb comes on, there is a look in the eyes of accomplishment. That is what I want to see in all my student's eyes. That is my goal. With hard work and determination, I will do all I can do to help improve your grades. More than that, I want to make sure you have the understanding of why something is the way it is, so that you can take that knowledge into future classes and succeed.
As a member of Mensa, I have proven my intelligence level is among the elite of society. I excel in Writing skills, Reading comprehension, English Literature, History, and Algebra I. I graduated Cum Laude with an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies, where I focused my studies on Politics. I then transferred to an online platform to attend a Baptist University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in History. Although the degree was technically in World History, my area of focus was U. S. History, and most specifically the U.S. Civil War, and World War II. I also became a member of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of the DET Honor Society. During my Master's in Human Resource Management program, I have maintained a 4.0, and am near graduation. I have tutored in class, going all the way back to junior high school. Over the course of my college career, I have helped students in the areas of Algebra I, Writing, English Lit. 101, 201, and 311, as well as Social Science.
As a professional student, I spend many hours a day on studying, finding new ways to learn. This is valuable information I can pass on to others. It is one thing to teach a subject. It is something completely different to teach how to learn. I only have a 2 hour cancellation policy, so I am extremely flexible and willing to work with you on your hours. I look forward to hearing from you, and helping you become the successful student that you want to be. My love of teaching comes from a lifelong desire to acquire knowledge. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
