University of Mississippi
My name is Alex and I am a freshman at the University of Mississippi that is willing to tutor anyone in need of elementary-college level help. I have experience with many leadership positions, community service, and I am on the track and field team, so I am used to helping those who need assistance. I have been a tutor for the past 4 years and am more than willing to attend to the individual needs of the student.
I am very mature for my age and am willing to help anyone struggling with math, Spanish, soccer, track and field, or volleyball. Because of my younger age, I can better relate to those I tutor and offer a fun yet successful approach to learning. Thank you for considering me as a tutor for you or your child! Alex is an engaging and excellent tutor. She knows the subject matter and explains concepts in an understandable manner. As a younger tutor, she has a tremendous ability to relate to my daughter. Very helpful - would highly recommend Alex!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have completed this course. Although I completed this course a while ago, I still use it almost daily to help students in multiple types of math classes.
I am very involved in my church at home and at college. I regularly attend bible studies twice a week, go to church, and over the summer I lead my own bible studies with a small group of friends. I would love to encourage others in their Christian walk as much as I can!
I completed this course a long time ago, but I still use it each day in my current math course. I have younger siblings I tutor and teach this course now. I fully understand and enjoy elementary math.
I have experience with students in Geometry. I aid in the process of not just memorizing the steps to solving problems, but actually understanding why he/she is solving them that way. Learning the material as opposed to memorizing the steps will always come in handy in the long term.
I played soccer for eight years. I also co-coached a few park district soccer teams in recent years, so I have experience with teaching ball skills and other techniques involved with the sport.
I have run track and field since the 7th grade. I was a captain as a junior and senior at my high school. Now, I high jump and throw the javelin for the Ole Miss track and field team. I also have experience coaching the hurdles, sprints, jumps, and throwing events.
I played volleyball for six years and have experience coaching a 7th grade girls team. I was an outside hitter for a while, but also competed as a middle hitter. I know the game very well and would be willing to help with serving, hitting, blocking, setting, and game strategy.
