About Nan

I am an elementary and special education teacher. I also have an endorsement in English.

I taught Employment English grades 9-12. I made lesson plans for regular and special ed. They are basically learning skills such as making a resume filling out job applications. We also did face to face interviews with me being the employer where I would ask questions about the students abilities and qualifications.

I have taught Pre K-3 and K-4 while working with Headstart. I also have experience in working with K-5 where I have the most experience. Grades 6 and 7 I have some experience with these students and have taught specific subjects actually filling in for the main teacher. Sixth and seventh grades were mainly inclusion.

I mentored and tutored high school students for the state test that had to be passed before they could graduate with s real diploma. We met 3 times per week where I was assigned 8 to 10 students. I also did one on one tutoring on my off period for students that were really struggling.

I can work most hours on any day, even weekends I will work with you if you have a weird schedule. I had rather come to your home. It seems to make the student more comfortable.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Nutrition

This class I actually taught as a life skills class that was specifically for special needs students. I taught healthy eating habits, counting calories and carbohydrates. We also had a kitchen where we cooked, washed dishes, etc. We washed and dried clothes and folded them. I taught simple meals that they could handle with no problem
