Hi. I am a experience teaching professional with over ten years of experience. I graded cum laude with an undergraduate major in chemistry and minor in mathematics. I currently have a 3.79 GPA in my graduate program in chemistry. I have been in been inducted into a number of honor societies (Who's Who, Academic All American, Lambda Sigma, Mortar Board). I maintain membership in several professional societies (American Chemistry Society, National Science Teacher Association, American Association for the Advancement of Sciences) in order to stay abreast of new discoveries. I have taught math and science to at middle school level, high school level, and college level (both traditional and nontraditional students). I have a passion for math and science education. Some of the courses that I have taught include college math and intermediate algebra, physical science and its labs, allied health chemistry and its lab, general chemistry and its lab, and organic chemistry and its lab. Consequently, I have experience presenting both introductory and advanced science and math material. I have also sponsored a number of student organizations (Beta Club, Math and Science Club, Pre-pharmacy Student Association).
I have also worked as a volunteer tutor for the past three years. Doing so has enabled me to present material in more innovative and less formal ways that really seem to benefit the students. My tutoring experience has helped me learn to explain both core concepts and their application. Often this involves the use of alternative methods, including graphical learning. One aspect of my style is presenting the best method for each student to understand the concept as well as the mathematics of a problem. For some students, the "standard" method taught in the textbook is the not the best for them; for these students other methods that also accomplish the same task are best. Let me help you excel in your math and science courses. Hi. I am a experience teaching professional with over ten years of experience. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
