About Amber

Bio

I have been teaching third grade for over two years now. I am passionate about helping students to succeed and to have their "light bulb" moment. I know first-hand how difficult it can be to get the help that you need in a class of 30 students!

I have done private tutoring for my students the past few years. My method of tutoring is to model how to solve the problem or understand the concept, have the student to help me solve the problem, and then have the student solve it independently....

I have done private tutoring for my students the past few years. My method of tutoring is to model how to solve the problem or understand the concept, have the student to help me solve the problem, and then have the student solve it independently. I check work after each problem, and address the issues or confusion head on. I like to use real-world examples, and as students grasps concepts, I like to "push their thinking" by asking more rigorous questions. The goal is to help students to learn the material in a way that helps them.

I have spent the past summer and my free time learning more about Common Core, especially in regards to math. I will work hard to ensure that your student is ready to master any material on their assignments and tests this year!
