I have previously taught resource and inclusion students with a wide variety of needs including ADHD and Autism at the Elementary School Level. As an SLP, I also taught a preschool class for developmentally delayed students with a wide variety of disabilities off and on in these 18 years. I also teach summer school for students with special needs. I have tutored students after school in reading and writing skills.

I love tutoring those students who need a little more one-on-one assistance with academics to assist them in building a foundational level for them to build. Language is the basis for learning, and as an SLP and special needs teacher, I feel a calling to intertwine all of my skills to help students in their early academic careers.

As an SLP in the school system, my job is to teach foundational skills so that a student is ready to master the Common Core standards. I have been teaching these standards, as well as remediating skills for students to master these standards since they were created and revised. These are typically addressed through IEP goals.

I am experienced in teaching reading and grammar through use of Orton Gillingham and Association Method. As an SLP, this is also part of our role in the school system as well.

I have 18 years of experience teaching students with ADHD, Dyslexia, and other disabilities how to read and write using proper mechanics and letter formation.

I would love you assist any student with IEPs or special needs. Please also contact me if your preschooler/elementary school student needs a stronger foundation for basic concepts, math calculation and reasoning skills, letter-sound association, phonics, phonemic and/or phonological awareness skills. Schedule a lesson with me today!
