About Perris

I am currently a student at The University of Southern Mississippi studying Elementary and Special Education. I love working with children and helping them to succeed. I have been actively teaching and observing in classrooms from preschool to fourth grade for four years now.

My passion for teaching and tutoring began when I was much younger, helping my siblings with their school work and test preparations. As I grew older I began to see that this could be a real future for me. In high school I was a member of a teaching team at Kiddee Korner Preschool.

This opportunity allowed me to see my true potential. Throughout high school I continued to tutor children struggling in different areas and aimed to continue in college. During my Senior year of high school I was able to enter a program called Career Study. This program allowed me to leave the high school for the second half of my day and go to an elementary school to observe.

I gained a lot of knowledge throughout this program that has helped me with my path to special education. During my time at Inglewood Elementary School I was able to work in a classroom for children with behavioral and emotional disabilities. I became very close to the students and fell in love with teaching.

Presently I am going into my Junior year of college and as exciting as it may be, I miss working with children and helping them in any way possible. Throughout my college journey I have taken many classes to help me become a better teacher and I have learned many new techniques for tutoring and teaching. I look forward to working with you!

I am very qualified in Prealgebra, Algebra, Geometry and Elementary Math. I have taken courses to prepare me to teach young students in each of these fields. I would love nothing more than to see each and every student succeed. I am prepared to work my hardest with each student until we are both satisfied with the outcome of their learning and with their knowledge of each subject. Please contact me with any questions or concerns!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
