Erskine College (Chemistry)
I am originally from South Carolina. I am a graduate of Erskine College. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. I worked briefly in the pharmaceutical world before finding my love and passion for teaching.
I spent over 10 years in the classroom and decided to stay home with my children after my third child was born. Most of my years as an educator were spent in high school classrooms teaching algebra 1, algebra 2, trigonometry, calculus, biology 1, anatomy & physiology, physical science, chemistry, and physics. I have also spent time teaching in elementary and middle school classrooms.
I now enjoy raising my three children and homeschooling them in the comfort of our home. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to work with students- expanding their knowledge and encouraging a continued love of learning.
I believe that my ability to break math concepts down into understandable parts and to effectively show math processes helps make me a great math tutor.
I love science! I love that science involves all five senses when it comes to learning. My ability to make science come to life makes me a great tutor. I'm good at explaining processes, providing demonstrations (whether hands on learning, web related, or even 2D), and relating math concepts when necessary.

I offer group rates for tutoring in algebra 1 and chemistry. The rate of tutoring is per person for a 90 minute session. For groups of 5-9, the rate is $40. For groups of 10+, the rate is $30.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a chemistry major with several college level hours in physics. I have taught and tutored physical science for over 10 years.
