About Jennifer

Greetings! I am a ten year special education and English teacher. I have taught k-12 general and special education focusing on English, reading, grammar, the writing process, and social studies grades 7-12th. I specialize in assisting students with learning struggles or learning disabilities. My college background is in social work, and my first passion is helping students overcome school anxiety. Next, assisting students with their studies and helping them to become successful, confident, independent learners.

I have a deep love of knowledge and encourage others to be life-long learners. I'm currently working on my master's degree in special education and English. Staying current on effective teaching methods is my top priority, so that I may help children and young adults as effectively as possible. Furthermore, I am a Christian and will provide the highest level of effectiveness as possible. It is my philosophy that learning should be interesting, engaging, and the pathway to fulfilling the student's dream occupation.
I am available to email and talk over the phone any time. I will promptly respond to all forms of communication, as I am very excited to assist students.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
