Mississippi State University (Music Education)
I am a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Music Education. This means I am able to teach K-12 music whether it's band instruments, voice, piano, music theory and everything in between. I attended Itawamba Community College where I took part in marching band, choir, steel drum band, woodwind ensemble and concert band. I then transferred to Mississippi State University where I was involved with the Famous Maroon Band, Clarinet Choir, MSU Philiharmonia, and the MSU Dixieland Jazz Band. I am a clarinet player but I am capable to playing and teaching the other instruments.
I believe that music is a way for all people to express themselves whether it is listening to music or making music. There have been several studies to show how music help children in school improve their math skills. Music is something that all people have in common. Music helps share emotions through a very special way. Everyone deserves a quality music education.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
