Baylor University (PhD)
I completed my Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biology from Baylor University. I have been employed by Baylor University as a teaching assistant. I have worked as a teaching assistant for Introductory Biology-I and II (BIO 1105 and BIO 1106), Genetics (BIO 2106) and Cell and Developmental Biology (BIO 4108). I have 6 years of teaching experience at under graduate level. I have always tried to integrate various technologies like Blackboard, Power Point, Video, Excel, Word and Animations to teach students more effectively and creatively. I believe that evaluation helps faculty to know students in their wide range of abilities. I have used various ways to assess students through projects, problem-solving, group work, tests, self-evaluation, lab reports, oral reports, reflective journals, paper presentations, term papers, quizzes and many more.
Team work is an integral part in any profession. I have actively assisted in guiding many under graduate students with their honors thesis during my time as a research assistant. I have worked with them as part of dissertation proposal for my PhD and also guided them with their honors thesis. I have assisted my mentor in designing Cell and Developmental Biology laboratory course. I have also enthusiastically participated in advising the students about future courses to pursue in their career that would help them make their career choice. I participated in various advisory and laboratory committees and meetings to discuss various issues. I am confident that I can communicate clearly and concisely with confidence to help students understand and develop deeper insight into biological concepts. I believe that with my educational background I can work as a teaching professional in helping students with course work. I completed my Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biology from Baylor University. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have completed a biology major during my undergraduate. I have taken graduate courses in ecology and environmental sciences. I have studied plant biotechnology and genetics as part of my Master of Science course in India.
I have taken genetics both in my undergraduate and graduate studies. I have studied molecular genetics in my graduate course program. I have taught an undergraduate genetics lab for 2 semesters as a teaching assistant. I regularly work with genetics background as part of my research work.
