I have experience will all kinds of students, from those with significant challenges to gifted and talented kids. I love to build rapport and connect with students and my very favorite thing is being able to explain concepts in ways tailored to the student and helping them achieve understanding. I will try and try again until we find a way that works to make things make sense.

I love teaching Math because there are so many different ways to conceptualize mathematical concepts. Math is like its own language, and I love helping people understand it in unique ways.

Writing is one of the most challenging subjects for so many students. Having an idea and putting it into words on paper is difficult! I love helping students figure out what they want to say and why so that their writing has a purpose and reaches their audience effectively. We will proofread along the way and make sure your writing is beautifully polished.

I have worked with lots of kids with ADHD and my son also has ADHD. I'm very patient and good at building rapport with kids to help them want to do the work. We can break down everything into as small of steps as we need to to get it done. I'm happy to help.

My first undergraduate degree is in Classical Humanities with an emphasis in Latin and Greek languages. This allows me to be able to explain the patterns in many words by breaking them into their root parts to help make sense of spelling conventions.

I am excited to meet you and help you with your work. Please don't hesitate to reach out and schedule a lesson!

I have multiple years of experience in the classroom as a paraprofessional and substitute and am a few months of student teaching away from being certified in K-12 special education as well as grades 1-6 elementary education. I have been working with common core standards for Math and ELA exclusively during this time, and I feel comfortable and confident in my ability to incorporate these or refer to them in my tutoring to ensure we are meeting these standards.

I have multiple years experience in a classroom and am a student teaching away from being certified in k-12 special education as well as grades 1-6 elementary education. In addition, I have been homeschooling my child through the pandemic, and have some knowledge of the differences between public and homeschool education. I am flexible in curriculum and would be open to discussing expectations for your student.

Classics

I take Classics as a subject to mean Ancient Greek and Roman culture and literature. This is what I originally studied in college with the intent to teach Latin, though that never worked out for me for a variety of reasons. Regardless, I currently hold a BA in Classical Humanities and was a few credits shy of a minor in Philosophy, and I would gladly leverage this knowledge and experience to help you. Are you reading Homer? Ovid? Catullus? Aristophanes? Plato? I can help!

Fabulous tutor

Kimberly did such a great job keeping my 7 year old to keep him on task. He lasted twice as long as I expected. Kimberly was so patient and very responsive to all his questions and they together were able to finish his activity without losing focus. Thank you!
