I'm David! I graduated from Washington High School with High Honors and I am attending Loyola University of Chicago as a Molecular/Cellular Biology and Molecular/Cellular Neuroscience major. Entering into college I realized that to solidly learn material you must ask the bigger question, "can I teach a stranger this complex subject in the most simplistic way while also encapsulating everything they need to know?" This led to me forming tutoring sessions with students that were struggling in classes.

The only formal tutoring I have in High School is through a program called the "A Plus Program" which was for students with a 3.0 GPA and above. I chose to tutor AP Biology students. Students in AP Biology varied from High School Sophomores to Seniors. In college, I have no formal tutoring programs, but I have formed tutoring sessions with students and have tutored fellow classmates all two years of my college career. On top of that, I am currently doing research at Stritch School of Medicine and Mayo Clinic where new research technicians come and go. The new research Techs, I am required to teach procedures and computational analysis tools to understand data received from the procedures and data collected. In High School I held tutoring sessions for AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus AB. In college I have held tutoring sessions for General Biology I&II, General Chemistry I&II, Organic Chemistry I, Calculus I, Genetics, (Currently) Cell Biology, and other minor biology courses. During these tutoring sessions I answered any questions the students brought to me and if I knew what Chapters the tutoring sessions were going to be discussed I made a summary sheet discussing the overarching concepts that were important to focus.

I want to become a Wyzant tutor to not only help and benefit students, but also to learn from my students. Overall, my hours are free all day Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Weekends I am also more than happy to tutor.
