Hello,

I have a lot of experience working with a variety of students. I have been a teacher's aide (volunteer), A+ tutor, private hired tutor, and a home school teacher. I also have experience working with students with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I love to explore new ways of learning and make things interesting. I try to use a variety of techniques when working with students to find what helps the student learn best. I have studied different positive reinforcement techniques that help students learn to develop better study habits and use these techniques myself!
I have tutored several children in math with a large age range from elementary school to high school. I am confident in my math abilities and I currently tutor an eight grader in math. I love science and find learning about science to be interesting/fun! I am currently tutoring an eight grader in science and before moving back to Springfield I taught science as a home school teacher to an elementary student with Apsergers!
I love to read! English was always one of my favorite subjects and I enjoy teaching it. I taught Language Arts recently in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada as a home school teacher and had a blast! I love that literature can have a transformative power over our lives. Studies have shown that reading increases empathetic responses; I would say that means it creates kindness and people who are kind! It is so important to be able to consider other viewpoints and imagine what others are feeling. I have a passion for literature!
I currently work with a child who has a Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and an ADHD diagnosis. I have experience with learning different techniques to help these children stay motivated and learn better. I have worked as a community support specialist with many children with ADHD, behavioral disorders, developmental disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. My Bachelor's Degree is in Psychology and I enjoy working with these students! I have tutored many students with ADHD.
Feel free to send me a message if you think I would be a good match for tutoring for you. I love working with a variety of students and I encourage diversity. I'm willing to work with students to find the learning styles that work for them and to encourage learning as much as possible!

Wonderful tutor with a strong understanding of different learning styles

Tabitha is a patient and creative tutor. She clearly has a very strong understanding of a variety of learning styles and can adjust her lessons to meet different needs. She also made a strong connection with my son, which helps him stay engaged and enjoy the lessons.
