Hi, my name is Katie and I'd love to be your tutor!

I have been a professional teacher since 2012 and have taught a variety of subjects, levels and ages.

I am available for online tutoring in:
- Kindergarten reading, writing and math
- 1st grade reading, writing and math
- 2nd grade reading, writing and math
- 3rd grade reading, writing and math
- phonics, phonemic awareness
- reading intervention
- Spanish lessons

I have professional teaching licenses in the states of Tennessee, Oregon and California, where I am certified to teach all subject areas grades K-8, as well as ESL grades K-12.

I have excelled especially as a reading intervention teacher. I love teaching reading and writing to young learners. I incorporate all aspects of reading/writing, such as modeled reading, reading comprehension, reading strategies for decoding (sound out) words, word study, writing, sight words, etc. I am great at making kids feel confident as readers and giving them real strategies to use for reading and reading comprehension.

As a math teacher, I have experience teaching grades K, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I am confident that I can fill in any gaps your child may have in math and be able to give them a solid mathematical foundation that they will need to progress successfully.

I have also taught in a Dual Language Immersion school in Oregon, where I taught all subject areas to my 1st grade students in Spanish. Now, I work as an online Spanish teacher, teaching young students (ages 6-14) Spanish through interactive classes.
