I am a graduate of Wofford College with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in secondary education. Currently, I am in my fourteenth year of teaching, most of which I have been teaching middle and high school sciences. My certification is through the state of Missouri and includes 5th to 9th-grade sciences, biology, chemistry, physics, and 9th to 12th-grade mathematics. I have taught and tutored students from sixth grade through college level in science, math, and GED. I consider myself a learning coach because I have had success in tutoring students at various levels of science, math, and study skills! One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is helping with memory aids and a true understanding of deeper concepts.

Once students understand the methods behind the math problems, they can accomplish their work without my assistance. One of my success stories was an algebra student who came to me with very low test grades. After one session, she felt confident enough to tutor her classmates. After only three sessions, she was able to make an A on her final!

I have worked in many science-based jobs outside the classroom, including industrial and medical fields. Therefore, my science understanding is deeper than the many textbooks I have learned and taught! I have many memory tools to help you understand and memorize the information which is causing most of your problems. My most recent student had great success in her online Chemistry course.
