About Roberta

I absolutely love helping students that feel that they have difficulties with any math subject. I specialize in Algebra and above but my favorites are Algebra II, Trig & Calculus. I have tutored many students one-on-one, bringing their grades up from B/C range to A's & B's. I have taught beginning math classes at the local community college and have volunteered to help in the math lab, which I truly enjoy. Overall, I believe that math is not a difficult subject, it's just the way it's presented that makes it difficult. I have lots of examples from former students of how they changed the way they thought about math to a more positive feeling. I can help you work through your stumbling blocks and help you raise your confidence level. I absolutely love helping students that feel that they have difficulties with any math subject. Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Business

I have an engineering degree with a Master's degree in Engineering Management (a cross between engineering and business). I have taught business courses (business statistics, quantitative analysis and business math) at a local university. Plus, I have over 20 years of industry (business) experience.

Differential Equations

I have tutored Differential Equations in the past through a different tutoring company. I have also taught higher level math classes at a local university. I have a background in statistics and an engineering bachelor's and master's degree.

Linear Algebra

I am qualified to tutor Linear Algebra because I have a two year Math degree which requires Linear Algebra in the coursework. I also taught Linear Algebra at the same community college where I took the course. I have used the concepts taught in this course many times and consider it one of my favorite sections of math.

SAS

I have been a SAS programmer for 24 years, which should qualify me to tutor students. I have also taught statistics, SPSS and SAS classes in the past.

Sewing

I am qualified to tutor in sewing. I have sewn garments for church plays and vacation bible school. I have recently made nursing uniform tops for a friend's granddaughter. I can sew material either by hand or with a sewing machine.

Very Intelligent and Very Patient.

Roberta was great! She is very intelligent and knows how to communicate her intellect in a manner that any level of learning could comprehend. I can say I am 100% more confident to take my test. Also, she is very friendly and very inviting. I never felt rushed at all! It was undeniably worth it to me, and have plans of seeing her again.
