I recently graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in cognitive neuroscience. I survived the pre-med program there and have been accepted to start medical school this coming fall. As someone who has endured his share of standardized testing and rigorous coursework, I have come to enjoy helping others in their respective academic journeys!

In addition to Wyzant, I currently tutor in over 20 subjects with a well-known tutoring company, and have helped many students achieve their academic goals. My subjects range from standardized tests (ACT, SAT, ISEE, MCAT) to subjects like psychology and essay editing. I have experience teaching young children, teenagers, and adults. I also spent a year working as a behavioral therapist for children with autism spectrum disorder, so I am familiar with how to accommodate students with special needs. I have come to appreciate the immense gratification that comes with seeing my students progress from session to session.

In addition to academic tutoring, I teach private guitar lessons both online and in person. I started teaching guitar in 2014, and have continued studying and performing through my college years. I have experience in the classical, jazz, rock, and pop music settings. Throughout the years, I have studied with master guitar players in a variety of styles, and have won several awards for my playing. I teach students of all levels, and welcome students from all types of musical backgrounds/interests.

In general, I like to match my tutoring methods to the learning style of the student. I am always open to any suggestions that students or their parents may have about how to optimize our tutoring sessions. I value effective communication, and promise all of my students that I will respond to their questions/concerns in a timely manner.

Helpful and knowledgeable tutor

Nathan has been helping me with my college level research methods class. I have never come across a better tutor than him! He’s patient and so helpful by making sure I understand exactly what we’re working on. I definitely wouldn’t be doing as well in the class if it wasn’t for Nathan’s help. Another amazing thing is that he’s extremely flexible with scheduling which allows me to get help when I need it.
