Hey! I'm Max, a 25-year-old with a lifelong passion for learning who has been tutoring other students since I was in high school. I have a track record of success in taking standardized tests (2400 SAT on my first sitting, 5/5 on all 15 of my AP exams). These results were achieved through hard work and preparation, and I want to teach you how I would approach various types of problems! My goal as a tutor is to show you how to solve problems quickly and efficiently, as well as how to break down complex material into understandable bits and pieces.

Originally from Florida, I competed in academic competitions from an early age and learned a lot of neat tricks, tips, and ways to think about the subjects that I was learning, especially in math. I then attended Princeton University, graduating in 2017 with a degree in Operations Research (Applied Math) and a minor in Computer Science. After spending 2 years working in finance in New York City, I am currently a graduate student at WashU.

In my free time, I love playing pickup basketball, tennis, ping ping, reading, and following sports. My favorite academic subjects are history, Spanish, computer science, math, biology, and chemistry.

I've been around math for the majority of my life, from competition math in middle school to working on challenging problem sets with other students at Princeton to working as a "quant" in finance. I really enjoy explaining mathematical concepts to other students in all areas of math.

Knowledgeable and patient

Max was a huge help to my son who needs assistance with college algebra. Thanks to Max's persistence and patience, my son was able to make some definite progress in understanding several important concepts. We will definitely be reaching out to him again!

excel

Max helped me with excel for my business information systems class. He was able to break things down step by step, and explain why I’m doing it, how certain things are displayed and broken down, and a general overview of excel in the business world. I would highly recommend Max. He was very patient and understanding of my needs. By far one of the best tutors I have worked with!

Very knowledgeable and helpful

Max taught me many key parts of Advanced Algebra 2 in just a little over an hour and 30 minutes. Every question that I had was answered by him and taught pretty well.
