My name is Madison (Maddie) and I am a second grade teacher looking to help out as a summer tutor. I have been teaching for a year and will continue teaching second grade for my second year in the fall. I love working with young students and helping them fall in love with subjects that they otherwise might not enjoy. I live a very active lifestyle, so I can appreciate giving my students brain breaks and chances to move around during our daily activities. I truly believe that if my students leave my classroom happy and healthy each day then I have done my job. I am looking forward to working with you!

I am comfortable working with incoming and outgoing second graders in math. I student taught in third grade, so am comfortable working with third grade math as well. I believe in taking time to make sure that students fully understand the topic before we move on, and working at the students individual pace.

I thoroughly enjoy reading and have enjoyed seeing my students fall in love with books this year. I enjoy helping my students navigate a good book, and find reading comprehension skills and strategies to be very important while reading. I am also proficient at proofreading and believe that this is a basic building block to becoming a strong writer. I believe that becoming a stronger reader can help lead a student to becoming a stronger writer.

I believe that over the course of my college education, I have gained many helpful tools that have helped me to become a stronger studier, and I would love to get the chance to share them with others.

I am family oriented and a hard worker. I believe that each child is unique and would love the opportunity to work with you! Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information about me or to schedule a lesson!
