Hello, my name is Gena and I am a rising third-year at Washington University in St. Louis double majoring in Mathematics and Korean Language and Literature currently on the pre-health track. I have always been fond of helping students and peers in STEM subject areas and standardized exams. Hello, my name is Gena and I am a rising third-year at Washington University in St. Louis double majoring in Mathematics and Korean Language and Literature currently on the pre-health track. I have always been fond of helping students and peers in STEM subject areas and standardized exams. Tutoring is beneficial for the student but to the tutor, myself, as well because it helps me better explain certain subjects. It is rewarding to see students I have tutored to perform better academically and fully grasp materials they previously struggled with.
Since 2014, I have tutored middle and high school student level courses ranging from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC. In college, I currently help tutor fellow peers who are taking college-level math courses such as Calculus 3, Differential Equations, and Matrix Algebra.
From my experiences as a tutor, I have recognized the importance of teaching the material based on the students' learning preferences. I always aim at creating an interactive tutoring session where the student is can best grasp the material.
