People learn differently: some need practical examples, some need visual representations, some feel comfortable from following step by step instructions, simply verbal, physical and etc. I think for students to learn effectively we need to introduce different teaching techniques to keep them engaged. As a tutor, I believe keeping students engaged in what I teach is the foundation of learning. The use of real world problems can be very helpful in finding ways to keep students interested and engaged in topics that I teach. Moreover, to encourage students in remaining interested and engaged in the teaching material, I will solve example problems of the student's choosing, but related to the teaching material. This method of teaching will put students at the center of their own learning and hopefully create more engagement and enthusiasm about the subject that I tutor.

I have had the opportunity to apply my teaching philosophy as a teaching assistant for various undergraduate level mechanical engineering courses and as a tutor in college. In that capacity, I have tutored undergraduate college students in mathematics (trigonometry, geometry, algebra and calculus), physics (mechanics, statics, dynamics) and french since it is my native language. As your tutor, I will ensure that fundamental concepts are well explained and understood. I believe the best way to learn a subject or understand a concept is through working out examples. As your tutor, I will adopt a practical approach centered around solving as many examples and workout problems as possible together. This will certainly help you, the student, build self-confidence and a desire to learn.

I am excited at the opportunity to work with you and ensure that you get the most out of your next tutoring session!
