Truman State University (Master's)
I graduated with my Masters in Education from Truman State University and will finish my Masters in English in the spring of 2017. I have had extensive experiences in a variety of settings, including working with students in writing center consultations, teaching freshman writing at Truman State, working with at-risk youth at a drug rehabilitation center, and completing my student teaching at Parkway North High School.
These field experiences have given me many opportunities to engage in one-on-one teaching and tutoring over the years. I also have diverse research interests that include best practice in English education, the teaching of critical thinking skills, disability studies, gender studies, and cultural theory. I can bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our tutoring sessions.
I love tutoring because I can truly create individualized learning experiences. I am dedicated to providing a high quality education to everyone I tutor, and am eager to collaborate and solicit feedback to accomplish that goal. I am constantly learning and searching for feedback and collaboration: the more I learn from you, the more I can help with your goals.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
