I love to work with children and enjoying assisting them in learning the skills that need to succeed in a variety of school subjects. I have a passion for reading and writing and am able to work with students from where they are at in order to build their confidence and skill set. I believe in a strengths-based approach and will utilize existing strengths in a creative manner to engage students in working on school work or learning new skills. I have a unique background in volunteer tutoring, babysitting and social work that helps me work with children on a variety of academic-related lessons.
I am wiling to travel to convenient locations for the students and their parents. I am also willing to come up with a plan and schedule that works best for everyone.
I have excelled in all of my college level English classes, and also written at a graduate level. Professionally I have written a lot of official correspondence, treatment plans, and notes for all of my employments. I enjoy reading and writing and have helped tutor kids in after school programs and through the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
I have a passion for working with children. I also have extensive experience working with children from different backgrounds, with different temperaments, and different learning styles. This is what makes me a well-rounded tutor for elementary-aged students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
