About Donald

I have been teaching high school math for 17 years at the same school. I have been tutoring kids from grade school through high school for even longer. I am patient, dependable, and care about my students. I have a great sense of humor and my students enjoy class; I try to bring this sense of humor to my tutoring sessions as well. I love mathematics and love teaching it too. I have also been a wrestling coach for 20 years.

I have a master's degree in pure mathematics and have 30 hours toward a PhD in math. I do not consider myself a math nerd, however.
I currently teach bc calculus and advanced algebra 2, trigonometry, and can pretty much help any kid learn any math topic.

My tutoring methods are simple: listen, ask questions, watch, correct gently, encourage, keep student on the right path...

I am married with three kids and live the simple life of a teacher. I am also trying to feed, clothe, and house my family and this is
getting harder to do on a teacher's salary. That is why I am looking for extra tutoring.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
