I have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as well as a Master's degree in aerospace engineering from St. Louis University. My education helped develop my passion and knowledge for math and science.

I am a high school physics teacher, and I am certified to teach both physics and math.

I'm familiar with many subjects of math, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and differential equations. I also am experienced in physics and chemistry.

I have several years of experience tutoring math to students of all ages (grade school through college level). I've learned that the best way to really understand a topic is get the concept first, then work through examples. I know that math can be very frustrating and confusing. I am patient and encourage a stress free learning environment. I also know that every student is different, so I will adjust my teaching style to meet your needs.

I am flexible if you'd like to meet at a public place or at your home, whatever you'd prefer.

While I love math and science, it is even more rewarding when I can help a student break through and succeed.

I have many years working with Word and Excel in my engineering education as well as in my career. Word is a powerful tool with many options that can make a document stand out but look professional. There are many features of Excel that can help you make helpful, organized spreadsheets that allows you to present a lot of information and make it easy to follow. I hope I can help and look forward to hearing from you!

Elementary Education

Elementary Math,

Elementary Math

Elementary and middle school math is the foundation for all future math (and science) classes. I take helping younger students very seriously. I understand the basic concepts of elementary math, but more importantly, from my tutoring experience, I know how to communicate and get the point across when a student is confused. I really enjoy seeing a student improve and succeed and lay the groundwork for success in the future.

Knowledgeable and reliable tutor

My daughter was struggling with her college Image Optics class. After one lesson with Kevin she got a 100% on her homework. She was previously getting 65 to 70% on assignments. He helped her to understand and work through the problems not just get the answers. We will definitely being doing more lessons.

Knowledgable and highly effective educator

Kevin worked with my son over the past two months on his chemistry skills. My son, with Kevin's tutoring, quickly understood the concepts and theories. He gained confidence and raised his grade in short order. We are very grateful for Kevin's help!

Great tutor

I have been working with Kevin for almost three weeks now. I have learned more from Kevin in our sessions than in class. I am also a lot more confident about the material. I'm expecting to do a lot better on my exams after working with him.

Helpful For Honors Algebra 2

Thank you so much Kevin for teaching Vishnu yesterday. Vishnu liked it so much and he understood many concepts. Your note sent to me after the class was very informative and helpful. Thank you again.

Helpful Explanations

Kevin was very helpful breaking the physics problems into smaller steps. He was easy for our daughter to follow & understand. Great experience!

Great Tutor, very knowledgable

Kevin was a great last minute find for my daughter who was struggling with AB Calculus. He successfully explained several difficult topics in a manner that was swift and understandable. He worked through many problems with her explaining each step of the process (the understanding was what she was lacking in this section). I would use him again and I highly recommend him to anyone who needs someone who not only understands math, but also understands how to teach it!
