"In short: it went great. My GMAT score went up 120 points! My tutor Chris was great at helping me develop an effective GMAT test-taking strategy and polish my quantitative skills. His tutoring did wonders for my score. The first time I took it, I got a 590, but 4 weeks later, I was able to score in the top 8%! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
